What is Bondee?
Bondee is a new social networking platform created by Singapore-based tech firm Metadream. It is billed as a “next-generation social app,” with metaverse features like 3D-animated avatars that users can customize.
Moreover, Bondee is like a small metaverse in the form of a social media app. You can customize everything about it. Anything from your avatar’s appearance, emotions (think facial expressions and status updates), hobbies, or the rooms it lives in.
The app also allows users to chat with friends while their avatars participate in virtual activities such as camping, swinging, dancing, sailing, and more. Besides that, your avatars can also visit and leave notes in other users’ rooms.
How To Use Bondee?
Using Bondee is super easy and pretty straightforward. To help you jump on this trend, here’s a step-by-step guide on how you can use Bondee:
- Download Bondee in Google Play Store ( For Android Users ) or App Store ( for IOS users )
- Open the app and sign up using your mobile number.
- Customize your avatar, which includes facial features, clothing, and accessories.
- Customize your room using various elements like furniture, photo frames, etc.
- Add friends and chat with them, update your status, or go sailing to earn free items.
Currently, users can add up to 50 friends by scanning their displayed QR codes or searching for their usernames.
Bondee’s Relevance To The Metaverse
You may be wondering what Bondee has to do with Web3 and the Metaverse. It’s a cute social media app that has nothing to do with crypto or NFTs.
That may be true for now, but little did you know, Bondee has blockchain elements.
Moreover, Bondee has both non-fungible token (NFT) and blockchain features. Although they don’t appear to be live in Bondee yet, they are mentioned in its official privacy policy.
According to the privacy policy, users will be able to “create a blockchain-based wallet on the public blockchain within the platform.”
While real-world money will be used to purchase B-Beans, B-Beans can be used to purchase NFTs, which users can then store in their blockchain wallets.
When you make a purchase, the app will receive the following information: your blockchain wallet balance, the details of your B-Beans order, and the details of your NFT order.
According to Bondee’s privacy policy, it will not be able to view users’ wallet mnemonics phrases, private keys, wallet passwords, or other private information.
Furthermore, it is currently unknown what Bondee’s NFT offerings will be.
